Welcome to Pristine Wilderness!
Our bio-region is located in the mountain region of the Cerro Nara Protected Zone, within the Los Santos Forest Reserve, Costa Rica. Live on the mountain, and experience true jungle and primordial rainforest. Even though we are deep in the rainforest, Manuel Antonio Beach is just 30 minutes away.
Volunteer Activities include:
~ Collecting Trees for Planting: Travel with us to pick up trees in local communities. Visit indigenous tribal communities and work with tribal volunteers
~ Building Greenhouse Spaces: Help build nurseries and greenhouses for rare species of trees and plants for seed-banking and restoration work.
~ Work in the Nursery: Organizing trees, watering, maintenance and gardening for our food production.
~ Exciting Camera Grant Project: Help install cameras in the rainforest, for wildlife observation and research.
What you will learn and experience
Volunteering with Team Cerro Nara will give you boots-on-the-ground experience in Analog Forestry, connection with local communities, and tribal groups working with us to restore devastated areas, and enhance areas within the Wildlife Corridor of the Zona de Protectora de Cerro Nara.
Researchers, Scientists, and Specialty Groups:
Within the bio-region of Cerro Nara, come and witness firsthand primordial rainforest which has three distinct life zones, on one mountain, at the border of the interior of the country and the Pacific Ocean. Team Cerro Nara manages over 5,200 acres of private Rainforest Lands; essentially the entire mountain of Cerro Nara is part of our conservation and restoration charter.
We have the place to do it all!
