This project, run by the Security, Programs and Projects, and Conservation departments, will implement techniques, equipment, and gear, by volunteers, staff, and program members via expeditions, into the wilderness, to research and observe the local flora and fauna, at the administration of the Cerro Nara Team Council. This will be carried out every week at least twice a week. These expeditions will be planned by designated workers, and staff, at the approval of the Cerro Nara Team Council.
Cameras and control environments will be set up to research and observe game trails, and other hotspots of flora and fauna activity. Some of these cameras will be live fed directly to the internet, while others will be remote and need to be checked weekly via expedition.
Volunteers and Program Members of the NGTOR and Research Project will:
- Pass the program/project-specific Team Cerro Nara Standards of Conduct Assessment (TCN SCA).
- Be diplomatic with potential threats, such as poachers.
- Keep good manner and presentation.
- Carry supplies to designated locations.
- Wear designated gear for presentation and safety purposes, and wear body cameras.
- Construct structures out of conventional, organic, and earthen materials.
- Deploy nature cameras and potentially learn and operate drones for surveillance.
- Work with, locate, relocate, manage and grow many types of flora and fauna, such as rare and/or endangered species.
